Borkum Riffgrund 2 is located approximately 57 kilometers
off the north-west coast of Germany, next to the 312MW Borkum Riffgrund 1 offshore wind farm. As of 2019, The Borkum Riffgrund 2 wind farm produces enough energy to accommodate 460 000 families.
My responsibility as HSE (health, safety and environmental contact) manager was focused on the installation of the foundations and the cables, this also applies to the other projects listed on this timeline. Read more.
Formosa 1 went down in
history as the first big-scale offshore wind farm located in Taiwan.
Jan De Nul delivered 56 000 tonnes of erosion protection to make sure the construction could withstand the roughness of the sea. Formosa 1 produces 128 MW of energy.
The construction of Formosa
2 is a major milestone in Taiwan’s renewable energy policy. This wind farm is being built on a 68 km² stretch, which is about the same size as 150 Vatican Cities.

When finished, Kaskasi will be the sixth major offshore wind farm in Germany. It serves as the next big
step in the country’s strive towards renewable energy. Its 38 turbines will produce 342 MW of green energy. During the construction a range of new technologies were used; for example, the vibro pile driving method which reduces environmental stress.

This 68 turbine offshore wind farm will finish construction in 2023. Located 16 km off Brittany’s coast, it will provide 9% of its total energy demand. Read more.
Scheduled to go into operation in 2025, He Dreiht offshore wind farm
will be one of the biggest producers of renewable energy in Europe. The
distance between the park and nearby coasts will be over 85 km, which is why He Dreiht requires over 100 km of subsea power cables to be installed. Read more.
